Have fun on our Topsail Beach Fishing Charters with ProFishNC
Take an exciting Fishing Charter with Capt. Trev, where you choose the type of fishing trip that is right for you, adult or kids fishing charters. Pick your excursion, from the inshore clam backwater, offshore trolling and bottom fishing or have family fun day fishing and exploring the barrier islands. Topsail Island inshore waters are teaming with countless esturaries, inlets, docks, marshes and flats that hold Red Drum, Flounder and Speckled Trout. If you choose to fish Offshore fishing at Topsail Beach expect to fish numerous live-bottom areas, wrecks and ledges (these structures hold baitfish; therefore, attracting the larger pelagic fish such as King Mackerel, Cobia, Silver Snapper, Barracudas and Sharks).
To the North, Topsail Island offers the New River Inlet which much like the Cape Fear River Fishery is a unique brackish water estuary fed by the coastal plains of North Carolina . Due to the New River, the North Topsail Beach Fishing grounds are plentiful with baitfish, crabs and shrimp. We use many tactics on our Topsail Beach Inshore Fishing Charters including drifting for Flounder using live bait, casting artificial baits (I love Blue Water Candy and Z-Man soft plastics) and sight fishing Red Drum are a few examples of very productive fishing tactics in New River Inlet. As we fish South the water gets clearer and clearer due to the influence of the South Topsail Inlet and Lea Island’s Richies Inlet. These inlets hold schools of red drum year around allowing us fish for them year around. As spring arrives, the redfish disperse throughout the inlets and surf of Topsail Beach south towards Figure Eight Island .

The combination of the clear water to the South coupled with miles of saltwater flats makes for a unique and fun opportunity to sight fish for Red Drum, target Sheepshead on the pilings using crabs and sea urchins, fish for Speckled Trout in the swift moving waters in the creeks and backwaters, drift for Big Flounder in the deep water holes, bottom bounce for Big Black Drum using crabs and clams around the docs in the Intracoastal Waterway. For those that get a little queasy on the water, Capt. Trev guarantees you will NOT GET SEASICK on our Inshore Charters.
